Acrylic foam tapes are a closed-cell acrylic foam coated with acrylic adhesive on both faces. Unlike tapes built on a separate carrier, the foam itself forms the body of the bond, so the bond line stays viscoelastic and absorbs differential expansion between the joined materials. They are used for structural bonding where welding, riveting or screwing is undesirable.
